Nota de condolencias y homenaje póstumo
La Asociación Hispana de Profesionales de la Salud, Inc. — AHPSI expresa sus más sentidas condolencias por el fallecimiento reciente de dos distinguidos profesionales de la salud, quienes dejaron huellas importantes de servicio, entrega y compromiso humano:
Dr. Martín Emiliano, fallecido el 25 de mayo de 2026, y el Dr. José Bolívar Márquez D’Oleo, fallecido el 5 de abril de 2026, en Perth Amboy, New Jersey.
El Dr. José Bolívar Márquez D’Oleo, nacido en El Cercado, República Dominicana, fue un médico formado en la Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo, con una vida dedicada al servicio, la salud comunitaria, la compasión y la defensa del derecho de toda persona a recibir atención médica digna. Su legado como médico, técnico respiratorio, psicoterapeuta, ser humano sensible y servidor de los más necesitados permanecerá vivo en la memoria de su familia, colegas, amigos y comunidad.
Hoy elevamos una oración por el descanso eterno de estos distinguidos profesionales y extendemos nuestras condolencias a sus familiares, seres queridos, colegas y a todos aquellos que compartieron con ellos sus sueños, luchas y vocación de servicio.
También recordamos con respeto y gratitud a otros miembros y profesionales fallecidos, quienes fueron parte de una generación de médicos y líderes comunitarios que abrieron caminos para los que hoy continuamos esta misión:

Dr. José Bolívar Márquez D’Oleo, age 80, a resident of Perth Amboy, New Jersey, passed peacefully at his home on April 5, 2026. He was born in El Cercado, Dominican Republic, and later moved to the United States in the 1980s, where he built a life rooted in service, curiosity, and deep compassion for others.
He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo in 1980. As a doctor, he worked in hospitals in several cities in the Dominican Republic, including Santiago, Hondo Valle, Barahona, and Vicente Noble. Throughout his career, he remained deeply committed to caring for all people, especially the poor and underserved, always believing that access to medical care and medicine should be a right for everyone.
After moving to the United States, he continued his life of service as a respiratory technician and psychotherapist. Throughout his life, he was guided by a sincere calling to heal, listen, and support those in need, firmly believing that healthcare is not a privilege but a right.
Dr. Márquez D’Oleo was a man of strong integrity, guided by deep ethics and values, as well as kindness, humility, and compassion. His character reflected a gentle yet profound spirit. He also believed that the Earth provides us with all the medicine we need and that health begins in the kitchen. His strength was steady and quiet, evident not only in his resilience but also in the way he consistently offered help, listened with patience, and approached others without judgment. He brought comfort through his presence and care, often extending support wherever it was needed. He had a natural ability to see the goodness in others and to recognize their worth beyond what was immediately visible.
He loved his family deeply, along with his friends and all living beings. He found joy in life’s simple moments such as gardening, fishing, cooking, photography, music, watching movies, writing, and continuously learning. He had a natural gift for repairing what was broken, whether it was something physical or something within the heart.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel Enrique Márquez and Francisca D’Oleo.
He is survived by his children, Zoila, Bellavignea, Chensy, Ghaidy, Phoenix, and Alibell, as well as seven nieces and nephews who will carry his memory and legacy forward with love.
In accordance with his wishes, Dr. Márquez D’Oleo was cremated. A devoted Gnostic who believed in the teachings of Jesus Christ and Mary Magdalene, he saw life as a spiritual journey and the body as a temporary vessel. He believed the soul transcends the physical form and that our true essence continues beyond this world.
With gratitude for his life, his love, and all he gave, we will miss him and honor his memory. May he rest in eternal peace, strength, love, and elevation.
