The Hispanic Health Professionals Association, Inc. NY (AHPSI) proudly recognizes Dr. Nicole S. De Leon De La Cruz as a recipient of the X Annual Dr. Marcos Charles Santana Health Legacy Award, honoring her outstanding dedication to patient care, community well-being, academic excellence, and compassionate service.
Dr. De Leon is a board-certified non-invasive cardiologist with strong clinical expertise in hospital cardiology, cardiovascular imaging, and women’s cardiovascular health. Her professional journey reflects the values that define this award: scientific excellence, human sensitivity, leadership, mentorship, and a deep commitment to improving lives through medicine.
Beyond her distinguished medical career, Dr. De Leon has made meaningful contributions to AHPSI and to the Hispanic health professional community. As a USMLE instructor, scientific speaker, mentor, and supporter of AHPSI’s “Decide to be Healthy” community health fairs, she has inspired and guided many internationally trained health professionals in their path toward achieving their dream of practicing medicine in the United States.
Her ability to teach with clarity, serve with humility, and lead with compassion has left a lasting impact on students, physicians, patients, and families. For AHPSI, honoring Dr. Nicole S. De Leon is a celebration of medicine practiced with knowledge, integrity, cultural sensitivity, and profound respect for human life.
This special recognition will be presented during the XX Annual International Multidisciplinary Medical Congress, on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at Montefiore Medical Center – Cherkasky Auditorium, Bronx, New York, under the central theme: “Practical Approach to Immunological Diseases.”
