**Information Circular: Success at AHPSI’s Career and Job Fair**
We are pleased to announce that during our last Career and Job Fair, held on Saturday, October 12, 2024, the Hispanic Association of Health Professionals, Inc. NY (AHPSI), had the opportunity to receive and orient a group of new immigrant professionals who learned about the event through our various dissemination platforms. All attendees received a complete orientation on the programs offered by AHPSI, employment opportunities, and referrals to other institutions of interest in the health area.
This event reaffirms our commitment to continue organizing job fairs focused on new immigrant health professionals arriving in the states of New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. At AHPSI, we are proud to be a bridge between newly arrived professionals and employment opportunities, guiding them in their process of integration into the United States health system.
We would especially like to thank the active members of our association, Dr. Julia Bello and Dr. Domingo Pena, who shared their experience and dedication in guiding the new professionals during the event. Their commitment was fundamental in providing support and guiding the immigrants in their process of adapting to the American work environment.
Since our first job fair in 2008, held at **The Nike Track & Field Center at The Armory**, in collaboration with the Councilman of District #10 of Washington Heights, Manhattan, we have maintained our mission of connecting immigrants with public and private institutions that not only offer jobs, but also teach the way to compete for them. This work, which began as a small community project, has grown over the years, helping thousands of professionals prepare for their insertion into the job market in the country.
Among the new professionals who attended the fair, we would like to highlight Dr. Nolvin Pujols, a doctor specializing in family medicine and a new immigrant, as well as Licda. Zulman Mercedes Alen, a native nurse from El Salvador, among others. We are proud to have provided them with guidance and connected them with opportunities that can boost their careers in this new country.
AHPSI will continue to carry out its mission of organizing these events, increasingly focused on supporting new health professionals seeking a better future in the United States. We invite you to continue participating and supporting this noble cause.
