1. Always use protective equipment such as gloves and face masks when working with sharp instruments such as scalpels and dental drills.
2. Disinfect all surfaces and instruments before and after use.
3. Wear protective eyewear when using high–speed dental drills and other tools.
4. Dispose of all hazardous materials, such as sharp instruments and needles, in designated containers.
5. Regularly clean and sterilize dental instruments and workstations.
6. Follow all safety protocols when working with X–ray equipment.
7. Make sure the patient is comfortable and safe during all procedures.
8. Be aware of any allergies the patient may have.
9. Follow proper guidelines for disposing of medical waste.
10. Be aware of the local and federal regulations regarding safety in the dental office.
