Nuestros estudiantes del área en dental assistant, con frecuencia se le preguntar en qué consiste la educación del paciente en el área  dental, de que se trata, eso? aquí nos enfocamos en la nutrición, pero ojo a diferencia de otros progrma te decimos de maner directa que debe comer el paciente para un buen cuidado  de los dientes.

CONCEPTOS NUTRICIÓN QUE DEBE CONOCER EL ASISTENTE DENTAL:
In Nutrition and Preventive Care, the dental assistant student, who should know the basics of nutrition,should be able to identify the elements of a healthy diet, including the four basic food groups and the essential nutrients.
The student should also be able to explain the importance of a balanced diet and the role of nutrition in oral health.
Additionally, the student should be able to identify common sources of dietary deficiencies and understand how to provide preventive care to help maintain good oral health.

What diet should be followed for good dental care Good dental care requires a balanced
diet that includes a variety of foods from each food group.
This means eating plenty of fruits and vegetables, whole grainslean proteins, and
low fat dairy products.

It’s also important to limit sugary and starchy foods, which can lead to tooth decay.
Eating a healthy, balanced diet can help you maintain healthy teeth and gums.
5 CAUSAS IMPORTANTES QUE CAUSAN CAÍDA DE LOS DIENTES:
What are the most important causes, causing tooth loss?
1. Poor Oral Hygiene: Not brushing and flossing regularly can lead to plaque buildup, which can cause tooth decay and lead to tooth loss.
2. Injury: Injury to the mouth can cause teeth to be knocked out or fractured, leading to tooth loss.
3. Tooth Decay: Tooth decay, or cavities, are caused by bacteria that feed on sugary and starchy food particles that are left on the teeth. If not treated, cavities can spread and lead to tooth loss.
4. Gum Disease: Bacteria in plaque can cause the gums to become inflamed, leading to gum disease. If left untreated, gum disease can cause teeth to become loose and eventually fall out.
5. Genetics: Some people may be at an increased risk of tooth loss due to genetics. This can lead to tooth decay, gum disease, and other conditions that can cause tooth loss.

What food should I eat to prevent tooth loss?
1. Foods high in calcium: Foods like milk, yogurt, cheese, and green vegetables like kale and broccoli are rich in calcium and help strengthen teeth and bones.
2. Foods high in Vitamin C: Vitamin C helps to build strong connective tissue and helps to protect gums and teeth. Foods high in Vitamin C include oranges, grapefruits, strawberries, and bell peppers.
3. Foods high in Phosphorus: Foods such as tuna, salmon, and eggs are rich in phosphorus, which helps to strengthen tooth enamel and prevent decay.
4. Foods high in Fluoride: Fluoride helps to prevent cavities and can be found in many toothpastes and mouthwashes. Foods high in Fluoride include tea, some seafood, and fluoridated water.
