BRIEF HISTORY DOMINICAN MEDICAL COLLEGE, NEW ENGLAND-MASSACHUSETTS BRANCH.

This affiliate of the Dominican Medical College, in the state of Massachusetts, was born in 2001, with the name of the Dominican Medical Association, New England Affiliate, then changed its name to become the New England Affiliate Dominican Medical College, its first president and founder being Dr.Rafael Muñoz Gautreaux, also had the strong support of Dr.Enriquillo Matos, and Dr.Aritmedes Restituyo.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Past presidents of this institution have been Dr. Fidelina Santiago, Dr. Carlos Ramirez. Among its great achievements has been the celebration of 6 annual international medical congresses, with different updating topics, with local guests from the Boston area, Lawrence, New Jersey, New York, and the Dominican Republic.

Professionals who have contributed greatly to the development of this affiliate of the Dominican Medical College, through these 22 years of foundation are Dr.Silvio del Rosario, Dr.Juan Rodriguez, Dra.Maribel Martires Luciano, Dr.De Jesus, Dra. WHERE WE HAVE HELD OUR SCIENTIFIC EVENTS:

Initially, these scientific events were held in the public library of the city of Lawrence, Massachusetts, until later we moved to the “DoubleTree, by Hilton hotel,Boston-Andover, this subsidiary has received medical residents in training from the Dominican Republic, to training rotation, in which they have observed technology, and new procedures, in the area of ​​their specialty.

This affiliate has also invited health administration experts from the Dominican Republic and other countries to observe new programs and technologies to be applied in their respective countries.

WE ARE THE ONLY ASSOCIATION OF LATINO PROFESSIONALS IN THE MASSACHUSETTS AREA:

We can say that our affiliated institution Medical College, New England-Boston, in the Boston area, and in the state of Massachusetts, is the only existing organization of Dominican professionals.

VII CONGRESS DEDICATED TO EDUCATION IN THE AREA OF HEALTH.

This VII international annual medical congress, to be held on March 25 and 26, 2023, on this occasion is dedicated to the empowerment of new health professional immigrants, we will touch on chronic diseases and lifestyle, in the field of education and the existing disparities, in which an analysis will be made of the different health careers, different alternative areas, different opportunities available, for the preparation of new health professional immigrants, universities and community colleges, from the Massachusetts area are invited , from other states and countries, who will present us with their experience of how they are contributing to a better rapid insertion of health professionals, in addition we will hear from the audience their needs and challenges.
