Ahpsi, Asociacion Hispana de profesionales de la salud anuciamos que el Domingo 17 de mayo, 2020, a la 1pm dentro de la celebracion de nuestro XV congreso medicoa anual internacional estaremos entregando el reconocimiento “Dr.Marcos Charles Santana Health Legacy Award, al Dr.Sixto Caro, con 48 años  de ejercicio como medico , graduado de la universidad de Barcelona ,España.   En Brooklyn y New York,realizo entrenamiento de medicina interna en Yale afiliado a Danbury Hospital, de Coonecticut,y al hospital Cabrini  de NY, en el cual laboro por varios años, el Dr.Caro, tambien trabajo en el hospital Lincoln,del Bronx,NY, bajo la supervision del Dr.Marcos Charles, Sixto Caro es profesor associado de NYU School of medicine , NY, afilado al Mount sinai school of Medicine,NY, en el 2005 ocupo la presidencia de la  organizacion mas grande de medicos y dentistas  Latinos,”American Medical Dental Society of NY”, Dr.Caro. Es miembro del  board  del departamento de salud & higiene mental del estado de New Yor, desde hace 18 años .



Ademas  el Dr.Caro, es miembro del equipo medico de Metropolitan  Opera y de American Ballet Theater  At Linconl center, NYC, con practica privada en el area de Williamburg, Brooklyn, Gramercy Park,Manhattan, NY, el Dr.Caro  representa toda una vida de logros , grandes reconocimientos  recibidos  por su labor centifica,academica  humanitaria,  con un gran despredimiento para nuestros pacientes y la comunidad, nuestra organizacion se siente honrada en reconocerlo en este año 2020, con el 5th premio Anual, Dr.Marcos Charles Santana, Health Legacy Award.



Biografia breve Dr.Sixto Caro.


HISPANIC HEALTH PROFESSIONALS ASSOCIATION INC.N.Y. SIXTO CARO MD BIOGRAPHY. He was born in Dajabon,Dominican Republic, the 7Th child of a family of 10 children. After studying from 1st grade to 12th grade in The Colegio de la Salle in Santo Domingo, capital, he went to The University of Puerto Rico in Rio Piedras, completing his Bachelor degree in Sciences. Subsequently he went to study Medicine at The University of Barcelona,Spain, followed by a Postgraduate Residency in Internal Medicine at Hospital San Pau of  Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona.


     Dr. Caro came to the United States and completed his Residency in  Internal Medicine in Yale-Affiliated Hospital at Danbury,Connecticut and at Cabrini Hospital in New York City in 1978. After that he worked in the Department of Medicine at Lincoln Hospital in the Bronx until 1979, where he worked under the supervision of Doctor Marcos Charles, and went  that year into private practice in General Internal Medicine in the community of Williamsburg, Brooklyn and Gramercy Park in Manhattan, and as an Attending physician in the Medicine  Department at Cabrini Medical Center in New York.

     After Cabrini Hospital closed in 2008, he joined the Department of Medicine Faculty  at NYU School of Medicine- NYULMC until the present time. He is also affiliated with Mount Sinai School Of Medicine (Beth Israel) in NYC.


     In 2005 he was president of the Spanish American Medical Dental Society of NY and organized that year  the Medical Education Congress at NYU. 
  Since 2002 he has been a Board of Health Member at the NY City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene to the present time.
     His personal interests include music,arts and cultural events and studied piano in his High School years in Dominican Republic. Currently he is a medical team member of the Metropolitan Opera and American Ballet  Theater at Lincoln Center,NYC.
     A humanitarian aspect of his Medical career includes múltiple Medical operatives in Dominican Republic, Nicaragua,Colombia, Haiti,Uganda and Djibouti in Africa.
     He is the father of a daughter and a son, a grandfather of two children.
